What we believe
If you're looking for a place to find out more about Christianity, who God is and what He thinks about you then you've come to the right place. We are a mainstream bible believing church. We aren't perfect but we know a perfect God. The amazing thing about God is that He is interested in you personally!
About God the Father
We believe that God made us, loves us and has good plans for us. He longs for us to know Him as our gracious heavenly Father, full of tenderness and loving care.
About God the Son
Jesus Christ is God's eternal Son, perfectly showing us God's nature and character. Jesus Himself said:-"Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father". (John 14.v9) It is only through the Lord Jesus Christ that we can know God personally, rather than as a remote idea. "I am the way, the truth and the life" Jesus once said. "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 11.v.6)
About God the Holy Spirit
He is given to us by Father and Son to make the truths of God live in our experience. Without the help of the Holy Spirit God's truth would be dry dogma and worship a meaningless ritual. He comes to teach, inspire and strengthen us in our Christian lives.
About the Bible
We believe the bible is God's word to us and the key to fulfilment in personal, family and social life. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119.105) We place a strong emphasis on teaching the practical relevance of the word of God to all aspects of daily living.
About Baptism
We believe that baptism by full immersion is to be reserved for those who profess repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord., "Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins" (Acts 2.v.38)
